LaVerna Johnson is chosen as President-Elect for the 2007-2009 term.

It was announced at the 2007 festival that  LaVerna Johnson has accepted the position of president elect for the next two years.  In 2009, LaVerna will step in as President of the Utah State Poetry Society when Vera Bakker finishes her term.  LaVerna has served with excellence in many other positions in the society over the years, and her wonderful poetry has won many awards on state and national levels.  We offer our congratulations to LaVerna and look forward to many years of her outstanding service to the Society in the future.
