Poetry In the Park, March 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Zion National Park features Minnesota's Macalester College professor Diane Glancy. Her Reading and poetry conversation at Zion National Park on March 25 will be followed by a challenging workshop:  "Inside the Lines"-- Getting Close to the Fire That is Within.

PRESS RELEASE: 15TH ANNUAL REDROCK WRITERS SEMINAR, MARCH 24-26
The 15th Annual Redrock Writers Seminar, March 26, 2011, includes four outstanding authors: Diane Glancy, Sandra Skouson, Gary Sorensen, Hilda Demuth-Lutze. For more information: <viking@bajabb.com>
Diane Glancy, professor emeritus at Macalester College, MN, prize winning poet, author, essayist, playwright, film producer: Her workshop,"Writing the Craft of Creative Nonfiction-- The Poetry Within," looks at how the techniques of poetry are incorporated also in nonfiction.  "We'll look at how the same care of language used in poetry is transferred to nonfiction.  We'll talk about image, tension, the rhythm of language, the economy and focus of this latest genre on the writing scene." 
Sandra Skouson, acclaimed poetry teacher at CEU-San Juan, will present "Writing From the Senses", essential elements of her prize winning poetry manuscript Woman Without a Net, as well as scripts for television, multi media presentations, and many other publications.
Gary Sorensen, a leader in the business of travel, a talk show host, and a prolific writer with over 150 newspaper and magazine travel columns, presents "Traveling the World Through Words," and some handy advice for traveling authors.
Hilda Demuth-Lutze, a Lily Creative Fellowship recipient with two historical novels for middle grade readers, teaches creative writing in northwest Indiana. Her workshop, "Fact and Fancy in Historical Fiction," will help us look forward to successful writing while looking backward in our stories.
