The members of the Oquirrh Chapter of the Utah State Poetry Society are always looking for local poets of all ages and skill levels to join our ranks, which include our distinguished chapter founder and mentor, Elaine Ipson, as well as other less well-known but equally enthusiastic Tooele County poetry buffs, some of whom have also had their work published or have won awards in various poetry contests. We conduct chapter meetings in Stansbury Park once a month from September through May, usually on the 2nd Thursday at 7:00 p.m., where we have a brief lesson about poetic form and technique or enjoy a presentation by a guest poet, and we also share and critique each other’s writing. Our Oquirrh Chapter members regularly attend and support Utah State Poetry Society (UTSPS) poetry workshops and activities such as the Poet of the Year Book Concert in October and the Spring Festival in April. For information about the date, time and location of our next scheduled meeting, please contact Chapter President.
